Volksgemeinschaft; a united Germany?
The creation of the Volksgemeinschaft is a major action undertook by the Nazi government, which is aimed to make Germany a great power by creating a racial state through uniting its people. The Volksgemeinschaft only lasted for a short period of time due the the collapse of the Nazi government following the Second World War. Never the less this is still the most significant action done by the Nazi government in order to ensure their control over the country, but most of all, restoring Germany’s power in the post World War One world. In order to examine how did the Nazi government constructed the Volksgemeinschaft, we will look at two significant social groups that the Volksgemeinschaft reached, the Germany’s working class, and the German farmers.
